Landing and pattern work

Today the time has come to finally train some landings. It’s probably one of the very last things I’m not even close to do at least on a “acceptable” level. Simply put – I don’t know how to land. My problem is that I completely don’t feel the plane when it’s time for flare. Somehow I can’t force it to do a nice touch down.

Anyway, today we spent whole hour flying around the airport. I did 9 landings. And all I know now is that I pretty much know how to do the pattern work, I can even put the bird on nice stabilized approach at 65mph. Yet even after those 9 landings I can’t finish it up with nice flare. Looks like I’m going to need some more training in that matter. Probably another 20 tries will do it.

After final landing and putting the aircraft in the hangar Terry told me that I should start doing my pre-solo written exam. Looks like rumors that you can actually solo around 10th hour of training weren’t that far off the truth. We’ll see.
